<h1>International Campaign Director</h1><br><br><b></b><br><br><i><b>This new senior position, based in Washington, D.C., reports to the Executive Director.</b>  </i><br><br><br><br><br><br>The Government Accountability Project is a 25-year old non-profit public interest organization that promotes government and corporate accountability by providing legal and advocacy support to employees who “blow the whistle” on unlawful conduct and other practices that endanger public health, safety, and the environment.  Focusing on the areas of nuclear facilities oversight, food safety, environmental enforcement, worker health and safety, and whistleblower law and policy, GAP uses an activist strategy that combines litigation, policy advocacy, media and legislative outreach, and coalition building to both defend whistleblowers and seek reform on their underlying disclosures.  GAP is a national organization with offices in Washington, D.C. and Seattle, Washington and the equivalent of 20 full-time staff.

The International Campaign Director, working with a broad senior team, will provide leadership, strategic thinking and direction to GAP’s new campaign to make the multilateral development banks more accountable and transparent by promoting whistleblower protection for bank employees.  The Campaign will employ a strategy that combines investigations of wrongdoing, occupational free speech, media publicity, issue advocacy and public policy reform.

This new senior position, based in Washington, D.C., reports to the Executive Director.

Job Responsibilities:
<br><br>
<br>*Collaborate with GAP policy staff on measures to improve oversight of bank practices
<br>*Collaborate on investigations of bank waste, fraud, abuse, and illegality
<br>*Work with bank managers and insiders on internal reform measures
<br>*Work in coalition with non-governmental organizations and others on bank practices
<br>*With the communications director, help publicize institutional problems and			whistleblower concerns
<br>*Write periodic internal campaign updates and strategic plans for the GAP newsletter, 	development staff, Board of Directors, and other staff members when needed
<br>*Carry out activities as defined and assigned by the Executive Director
<br><br>
Requirements:
<br>Broad experience in developing and implementing major national advocacy campaigns		or programs
<br>Knowledge of the multilateral development banks
<br>Have initiative, flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to the issues.  <br>Must have 	exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team
<br>Excellent writing and speaking skills
<br>Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of staff, whistleblowers, and activists
<br><BR>
Salary depends on experience with excellent benefits, including employer-paid health coverage, 403B plan, generous vacation and personnel sick leave
